If you think Scouting’s just about knots, woggles and big shorts, then be prepared to be surprised. It’s how Richard Branson, Barack Obama and David Beckham got their start in life and you can benefit too.

There are 450,000 young people in Scouting, spread across five sections: Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and the Scout Network. Each section has its own balanced programme of activities, badges and awards.

Scouting is about helping young people grow as individuals, become independent and make a contribution to society.  These aims are delivered through a fun and exciting range of activities with a  real focus on being active.

Scouting is open to young people of either gender between the ages of 6-25: people from all backgrounds and faiths (or none) are welcome to be a part of the global Scouting family.

There is plenty of room for adults to be involved too.  As well as needing leaders to support the young people directly, there are opportunities to act as a supporter or in a background role.
